Why Making More Money is a Trap

I was listening to The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F#@& by Mark Manson this evening and I he said something I absolutely agree with:

Pursuing material wealth as a “value” is a great way to end up unfulfilled in your life. (paraphrasing)

What should you be more concerned about? Growing a skillset that increases your value, to yourself and others.

Copywriting is an excellent skill to develop, for the right reasons. You will always have value in this world if you can sell with the written word.

But don’t sell your services to whomever will pay, be more selective.

Be picky with who you work with. Because experience is more important than the money.

Shane teaches the same concept in his MasterClass, when it comes to list building.

Would you like to only have people you want to work with buy from you? You want to attract the best clients and business partners, right?

Of course you do. You don’t want crappy customers.

Would you like to repel the worst clients with abrasive ad positioning?

Care about attracting the right people and focusing on how you can bring them value, the money is a byproduct.

Learn to serve your true market by investing in Shane Hunter’s MasterClass.

Blowin’ Smoke or Woke As a Joke?

Lemme tell you about Ken.

He’s my boss up at the furniture shop. The dude’s an animal.

He does the work of three men up there. No lunch, no breaks, just WORK.

I try to hang with him but I’m only human! He’s a machine.

This work ethic reminds me of two people- one is my dad (who we won’t get into today)

The other is Shane Hunter.

I’ll never forget his response to a question during one of his Facebook livestreams.

Someone asked him: “What’s the ‘silver bullet’ to success in internet marketing?”

With zero hesitation he answered: “hard work.”

Neither him nor I will blow smoke up your ass. Stay woke. If you want to succeed at internet marketing (or anything really) it will require hard work.

If you’re lazy, that little voice in the back of your head will constantly remind you of your unmet potential.

That voice will haunt you if you really decide you want something but don’t DO what’s necessary to get it.

Invest in Shane’s MasterClass.
-Benefit from his hard work and experience, allowing you to skip years of trial and error
-Work really hard for as long as it takes
-Enjoy the fruits of your toil (retire early on some land)

To Drink or Not to Drink the Kool-Aid

I stopped by my best friend’s place last night to catch up for a bit.

I got to hear his struggles, as well as his progress. It’s a pleasure.

Then the conversation turns to Shane’s stuff. He wants to make sure (good friend that he is) that I’m not being scammed.

He knows I’ve been burned before and that I trust too easily.

My response?

Paraphrasing:

“I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Shane is legit, and genuinely cares about his students.

I’ve been in his ‘orbit’ long enough to know he’s legit. I’ve seen his students succeed.

The MasterClass is rock solid. Nothing else has gotten me to take action like it has.”

Shane would be the first to tell you to be weary of Internet Marketers. He actively calls out the seedy ones. He’s realer than Real-Deal Holyfield.

Learn from the master- follow Shane Hunter on social media. Here’s his facebook page (under the name Zark Muckerberg):

What Rappers Can Teach You About Copywriting

I just finished re-reading Issue 17 of Shane Hunter’s MasterClass.

It is a doozy, and right up my alley. The issue starts by analyzing Ice Cube’s smash “No Vaseline” and how his wordplay had so much power.

Shane explains what exactly set apart the greatest rappers and copywriters. In a world full of noise, the legendary rappers and copywriters use this principle to speak to their audience. The riff-raff can only dream of having this type of impact.

What sets these geniuses apart is one simple concept, which Shane shares in the MasterClass.

He goes on to explain Kanye’s abrasive traits to adopt to craft legendary copy.

This is just one of 24 issues of the MasterClass, which pack a full Internet Marketing education.

If (like I was before I bought the MasterClass) you’re stuck and just can’t get out of your own way in business and in life, you need the MasterClass.

The Key to a Rich Life

Today I’m going to share with you the most fundamental trait you need to be successful, in business and in life.

Gary Halbert shares this little nugget with his son Bond, in his legendary Boron Letters (written from prison):

“When it comes to making money, attitude is the most important thing of all.”

When the greatest copywriter ever speaks, you best harken, buttercup.

There’s also this gem from Shane’s favorite “self help” personality, Earl Nightingale:

“What word would you say is the most important word when it comes to living successfully? According to the experts, the word is ‘attitude’. And it is a fact that our attitude will determine our fate and success.”

Preach it, brother Earl.

Speaking from experience, I have to agree with the two legends above. It is my attitude in how I approach people, situations and my work that are the reasons why I’m succeeding, slowly but surely.

Attitude is everything.

If it’s so critical, how do you develop a better attitude?

Shane Hunter gives you simple actionable steps to begin this process in chapter 1 of the The Final Fight. The one weird trick he gives in that chapter is worth a hundred self help book’s weight in gold.

This little book is jam packed with attitude-altering advice, if you’ll apply it (that’s always the rub).

It also forms the foundation for everything that’s built on in the MasterClass.

Change your attitude, change your altitude.

You Secretly Love Drama

This evening, my girl told me a story:

She’s a gamer and she uses an app called Discord (a social media app specifically for gamers)

Apparently there’s some drama in her gamer community that indirectly involves her.

So she explains the ins and outs of it, and why its upsetting her. Then, she asks me:

“What do you think, baby? I want your opinion.”

My response? Straight outta Shane’s playbook.

“You need to find a way to not react to other peoples BS.”

Word. You will make very little progress in business and in life if you regularly react to external stimuli emotionally.

Good thing Shane Hunter created the MasterClass and his book The Final Fight to combat your natural reactionary tendencies.

You’re not responsible for your conditioning. But you ARE responsible for not letting your conditioning control you your whole life.

Find freedom from your farcical feelings with the MasterClass fundamentals.

Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery While Under the Influence of this Post

I effed up today at my day job.

You see, I’ve been fighting off this viral and sinus crap. I felt close to beating it so I popped a Sudafed this morning, to clear out the lingering gunk.

Now, I knew Sudafed messes with my head. What I didn’t realize was how bad of an idea trying to woodwork while under its influence.

While working, I got mixed up and shaved too much off some oak boards (very expensive wood). My boss was gracious about it, and we were still able to use the wood. But he advised me never to take anything before I come to work. Good advice.

My other boss also said something that made an impression on me:

“If you’re afraid to make mistakes, you should quit woodworking.”

The same thing applies to marketing. The fear of making mistakes is what keeps most people from really growing their businesses.

And not growing is one mistake you can’t overcome.

You can skip these mistakes and their growing pains by investing in Shane’s MasterClass. He purposely designed it so you skip the “sucky part” of internet marketing growth and avoid the hard lessons.

Most take years to figure this stuff out, some never do. Save yourself from this fate.

Trying to grow your internet marketing business without Shane’s stuff is as irresponsible as taking Sudafed while operating heavy machinery.

Market responsibly, my friend.

Four Fatal Internet Marketing Flaws

Proles like to blame Facebook for making our culture sick. Here’s the truth: social media is simply a megaphone for human nature. If you pick a bunch of internet marketers from a hat and follow them on social media for any length of time, you’ll come across some ugly habits. Also, by way of contrast I have an excellent example for you to follow (Hint: it’s Shane)

Without further ado, the four fatal internet marketing flaws to avoid like the plague:

1. Inconsistency. This is the killer. Your market needs to hear from you. Daily. Whether you post on social media or send an email, the last thing you want to have to do is re-introduce yourself. Nothing can be built without consistency.

Side bonus: consistency separates you from the pack. As Pusha-T puts it: “You either with the pro ballers or the amateurs”

2. Being inoffensive. I get it. It’s human nature. You’ve really gotta practice this one, step out there, speak your mind, and rile some people up. THIS is how you connect to your market. If you aren’t speaking to people’s emotions, you’re not effectively marketing.

3. Weakness. If you let your customers or internet trolls tell you how to run your business, if you compromise on price, if you don’t position yourself as someone who doesn’t tolerate being treated poorly, as Led Zeppelin says: “You need schoolin’/ baby I’m not foolin'”

4. Shiny object syndrome. Yours truly had this vice for a long time until I stumbled across Shane’s stuff. I churned thru books, courses, blogs and rode the guru Ferris Wheel. I was addicted to the dopamine rush of consuming that stuff. The Shane’s MasterClass got me learning by doing.

Speaking of Shane’s MasterClass, it will squash these vices like Mario stomping a Goomba. Shane has beat consistency into my head to where I can’t ignore it. You should follow him on social media if you’re not already.

He’s been around the block and he’ll show you the potholes. Plant your flag and end the hamsterwheeling now by investing in the MasterClass.

You’re Being Watched

You ever heard the song “Private Eyes” by Hall & Oates?

Here are the lyrics I’m thinking of:

“Private eyes/

They’re watching you/

They see your every move”

Hall & Oates = solid gold. Also, they could easily be talking about the current state of marketing.

Facebook, Google and Amazon are basically stalking the world, and selling their gathered intelligence to marketers.

It’s just reality, cupcake. You can either fear the way things are or try and use it to your advantage.

I prefer the latter. As you should. Accepting reality is more profitable.

Another reality? Most marketers have the targeting skills of a Stormtrooper (non-Star Wars nerds: that means not very accurate)

This is where Shane Hunter starts in the Abrasive Entrepreneurs MasterClass. Targeting and avatar creation couldn’t be more important, and in the first newsletter you’re given the key phrase that unlocks this whole skill.

Getting inside the mind of your target customer will have you singing “Private Eyes” too, but only if you understand the Abrasive fundamentals in the MasterClass.

You Need a Cold, Hard Dose of Reality

You ever spent time around a person with zero self awareness?

Do you think their ignorance is bliss? I highly doubt it.

I know someone like this, and every time I see their latest “I’m a victim” social media posts, I just shake my head.

Don’t be like this. Take responsibility for the things you can control (your words, your thoughts, your actions) and let go of your entitlement to be treated a certain way by the world or life in general.

News flash, Jack: you ain’t entitled to squat. And plenty of people have it way worse than you. Life is suffering. Embrace it, read up on Stoicism.

OR, you could save yourself some time and uncover how to “Empower Your Victimhood,” as Shane Hunter calls it.

In his book The Final Fight and laced throughout the MasterClass Shane shows you how to start with yourself, save yourself and then help others.

That’s how the process works. It always starts with you. It starts with your life and how you respond to it, and it naturally crosses over into your business.

You want your business to be fun, right? What sounds more fun than knowing no matter what life throws at you you can handle it because you’re Abrasively SOLID.

It’s a great feeling, believe me. It’s the kind of feeling you’ll wish some of your loved ones could experience too, but not everyone is ready.

But you are, aren’t you?
